Burnished Venetian Plaster Fireplace

Acrylic Venetian plaster fireplace with layered gray tones and a decorative branch screen.

The finished fireplace: dark, medium and light acrylic Venetian plaster, brought together through burnishing.

I finished this fireplace in acrylic Venetian plaster, using dark, medium and light material to build up the tonal variation across the surface.

Then came the burnishing. And more burnishing. It felt like days. A true arm workout.

The result is a layered gray finish with depth and movement. The finished photo shows how the darker and lighter tones work together across the fireplace.
