Painting a Stone Skin to Look Real

This wall started as a stone skin. My part was painting it to make the surface look like real stone.

I used color matching and layers of earth tones, building gradients and the variations you see in natural stone. The work was in the subtle shifts: giving the surface depth without making every area look the same.

The finished paint brings out the texture of the skin, with varied color across the wall. Layers of paint turn a constructed surface into a convincing stone effect.
